I am trying to gather tax documents to send to my preparer. My other book distributors have sent the 1099-MISC for royalties out to me, but I haven't seen this from either Amazon or CreateSpace.

Is anyone else still waiting on these documents?

Thanks!

Thanks! I was just making sure that I didn't miss them in the mail. I wish that Amazon would not wait until January 31 to mail them every year. They should give the option to receive them electronically (or by download).

Enough of my complaints...

Yes, just got mail and I haven't received any of mine yet. I did receive one from Lulu last week and I don't ever recall selling a book through them.

I'm still waiting for mine. It seems like last year, they were much quicker about getting them out, but the holdup may be due to the new tax information forms we had to supply. Someone had posted in another forum that they thought Amazon was going to email all of the 1099s this year and not mail them, so we may get an email notification soon.

Both of my Amazon 1099s arrived in the mail yesterday. The deadline for businesses to mail them was Monday (the stated deadline is Jan. 31 but when it falls on a weekend, the real deadline is the next business day). Since I'm only 200 miles from Amazon HQ mail delivery doesn't take long. They either mailed them last Friday or on Monday (prepaid postage envelope, so there's no stamp cancellation with the date.

Amazon's 10990 does not match the sales recorded in our company's bank statements. The 1099 is undereported. Of course we will report the actual royalties paid, not the lesser 1099 eport.

I have the same here. Just received 4 1099s. The one for Australia has a total that only accounts for what I got paid for AU royalties for the months April to July of last year. August to October's are not included.

I still haven't received mine. I'm going to contact them today to see if there's some kind of problem. I updated my tax information when they requested it back in December, and there's a green check mark next to the box. I don't know what the problem is.

I just got the remaining 2 I was waiting for today. Unfortunately, the numbers are completely different than I expected and don't add up to what they should.

It's the 11th of February and I still haven't received my 1099, BUT I received an email today that my 1099 I supposedly received in the mail was incorrect. They will be mailing a corrected copy on February 13th. But I never even received the incorrect one!

Why does this always have to be frustrating? I wish they'd just put it online.

Kristajm - This whole situation is a joke (and not a funny one). I did receive all of mine recently. So I decided to give my accountant all my tax info this morning. Then, I got an email from createspace about my 1099 being incorrect, and then later today I got an email from kindle about my 1099 being incorrect (and they didn't specify which one, which is even more annoying because kdp royalties are on multiple 1099s). Total mess.
