I certainly love publishing books these days. I have been able to catch up on my debts and am looking forward to the day when I can replace 100% of my J-O-B income just on Kindle publishing alone. It has taken a while to get to this point, because in all honesty, there are days when I just don't feel like looking at this stuff. It gets tedious at times. But I sort of regret not publishing a few more books here and there, because I could be moving on to other things right now. The thing that made me realize how awesome this program is that when I get my royalties in February, I will be able to either a) pay all of bills or b) give my son the best 1st birthday ever, and still pay all my bills with my J-O-B. It is going to be able to pay for some expenses when I get married in October.
So, aside from all the anger we may have experienced, if you stick with doing this type of work, it will, and does, pay off in the long run.
Great post! This is exactly the kind of feedback that I need because I refuse to think in a negative manner. No matter how many negative posts I read on here, it takes only one like this to keep me motivated!
Good onya, publisherdude! And making a living by self-publishing can certainly be done. Tomorrow's the last day for my 26-year career job, because I'm making three times from my royalties (as of June) than what I make there (and I made a pretty good salary).
