I loaded Storm's Obsession (B001QFZFQM) on Friday, 23 January 2009. The item is in the Amazon catalog and is displayed, but not yet "available" for purchase. The 12 - 72 hours upload time has now elapsed. This author has been selling well for you, making hundreds of dollars for Amazon each month. You're taking 65%, a hefty commission, so can you please resolve the problem? Earn that %?
If there is some kind of file error then let me know, delete the current entry and I will fix the problem and re-load the product.
I don't think you can just easily delete a book that is in the publishing queue but not LIVE yet. It's not easy to delete a LIVE book either.
You can find more info on this issue also on this board, I am just reading the threads myself.
It is of course possible to create another version of your book, but without making significant changes I don't know whether that new one would go LIVE fast, or that one would also get stuck in the Publishing queue.
You might want to find dtpadmin who sometimes posts here, not every day, he is the real expert and also the authors of the Publish your book on Kindle type books might be willing to help you.
As for the publishing queue. I noticed that some books show up as early as 2 hours, they go LIVE, while some get stuck for days, but eventually go live.
I could not figure out why, it's not the length of the book, it's not the presence of photos inside the book, it's still a mystery to me.
Eventually they all go live, I had one exception so far, one is still stuck for me, now for about four days.
I gave up converting PDF files. For the moment that doesn't seem to be easy for small publishers.
I converted HTML and also zipped HTML (if I had pictures) files successfully.
I noticed however, that certain books with lots of photographs, graphics, other type of artwork published originally by CRC are also available on Kindle. I don't think the authors of those books converted their pdf files to HTML, so maybe big publishers and Amazon know something that is not available for all.
Indeed your book is still in the queue, when I searched for it by the title, I could see, that there is no price, only the "sign up to be notified when this item becomes available". I had that happen with mine but not for five days or perhaps even more, they eventually came LIVE after two-three days, except the one that is now up to four days and still hanging.
