"You came here on the forum and posted long pieces of your work and asked if we thought they were any good. Marcy took the time to answer you that she did not think they were good. And now you try to take her to task for answering your question? When you post here, you open yourself up to whatever the rest of the members want to post. If you don't want Marcy to comment on your work, then don't post here and ask for feedback. It is that simple."

It is not that I did not want her to comment... on my work. Everything she has said about it, has been negative. I am well-educated. And the first thing that you learn is to be constructive.

You can criticize another person's work, but do not insult them. I have cancelled all my work.

I hope you feel very good about it. After this question to the rest here, I will not post either.

I want to know one... thing Jonathan B. Why did you interfere with what I said to her??

Pete,

I want to thank you for all your posts,
and want to ask you to not stop posting.
(although, don't post things you can find answers for readily on this forum, like marketing strategies etc.)

Your posts always activate my brain.
The slightly garbled way in which you put things, sometimes makes me read things twice or even trice, -yes I said trice.
It puts things into gear for me, and makes the hamster run around in his mill.

Also...
You said you cancelled all of your work.
Do you mean you've unpublished everything? Or just stopped writing?
Either way, there are only two things I can tell you;

1] Don't stop writing.
Write, learn, and turn your poetry into something extraordinary.
(Not everything you write has to be published!!)
Learn from what you do, you can only get better.

2] If you haven't unpublished your work, change your covers.
By all that is holy, please change your covers...
I know you see them as special and individual (and I respect that...), but the reader won't.
(I am talking as a reader here!)
A reader will look at those covers and think they're dreadful.
They look unproffesional, made in a rush, and maybe even made by a child.
Please change them, I can guarantie you people will just scroll past those covers and not even give it a two second glance.

Really, Pete?

Once again, when you post here, it becomes public--emphasis on the public. Any and all can then make comments on it. I happen to know Marcy (from a forum perspective) and have even contributed to one of her covers. So if I want to comment, I can. This forum is not a private communication between you and her.

The bottom line is that you asked if your work was good or not. She opted for the "not." You did not ask for a critique, you did not ask for advice. You essentially asked for a yes or no.

I read the work you posted, and as I had absolutely nothing positive to say about it, I chose not to post. Others posting their opinions were enough, in my own opinion, to let you know that perhaps the work might not be the best.

But now you come here with this ridiculous thread (yes, while I try not to be that judgmental, I do think this thread is ridiculous). Why you feel it is necessary, I am not sure, but have at it.

And I am not "happy." I am not sad, either. Frankly, I don't care one way or the other. I cared enough to point out a fallacy in your posts with regards to Marcy, but obviously I didn't care enough to let you know what I thought of your writing.

Come on Pete,

You are educated... Really?

The Poem you posted and asked everyone to critique looked like it had been created by a random word generator.

I would guess your medicine cabinet has more than one drug for delusion, and that is not meant as an insult as much as a reminder to take a few.

You are either a clever person trolling here or your mind works on a different and strange level compared to the norm, and language skills are not present.

You say you are educated and start the next sentence with "And". Okay.. That is nothing compared to your poem...

Your poem inspired me to never look at another poem where the author is too slow, naive, or uneducated to know for himself.

Have you heard of alliteration, onomatopoeia, rhythm...

If you are deeply wounded by what strangers on the internet say about your work, you are not psychologically read to publish work there. Advice, of any kind, is a gift. You can treasure it or you can immediatly discard it--you can even not read it at all. If you ask for it, and you read it, how you react is your responsibility entirely.

Most people would rather do almost anything else than read poetry, even the great acclaimed poetry. I would probably choose to clean my bathroom before reading it, if the bathroom needed to be done anyways. So you cannot expect a good response, in general, even if you are brilliant.

I'll tell you what else has become an issue, shall I? I am still waiting for an answer to your outrageous remark on another thread that you 'can't even get a woman to buy it'. I shan't let it go until I get either an explanation or an apology.
