Normally when I order a book to my kindle, I like the option of being able to preview a couple of pages to of the book. I was trying to do this for my own personal kindle book. How do I do this? I already published mine and I forgot to add this option.
Are you talking about the Look Inside? All ebooks (except for those in fixed-format) have a Look Inside. There is also an opportunity on the sales page to download a free sample (the same material as the Look Inside).
If your book has just been published, it may take a day or two for the Look Inside to appear, but there's nothing extra you need to do. Good luck!
Hello, Regarding the Look Inside feature: Unfortunately it shows only a few blank or author pages. I am trying to locate a tool to proactively select which pages for the Look Inside feature.
If I cannot pre-select the pages shown in the Look Inside, I must remove the file and upload a completely new file that goes right to the content I want previewed? Please let me know if there is a way to upload a second file specific to support the Look Inside feature, or if this feature is in development for the future.
Normally the Look Inside shows the first 10 per cent of the book. If you are seeing blank pages, are you sure they weren't in the file you uploaded? The other possibility is that you have a very short work, in which case, the 10 per cent won't actually include any of the text, especially if you have a lot of front matter (dedications, acknowledgments, etc.)
ETA - You can't upload a second file for the LI. It is generated automatically.

The only way to increase the sample in Look Inside is to subtract material from the front of the book or by adding material to the back. It doesn't take much of a book before a chapter or even two are visible. Even 70 pages (in the case of one of my books) shows a fair amount.
Good luck! -- NJ
