What the subject line says. What's supposed to distinguish these two forums, anyway?

And if the distinction is that subtle, it's also pointless.

Further, people posting in the "Account Issues" forum are more likely to have their posts seen, and to get an answer to their questions.

Updated to emphasize the point. FEW PEOPLE VIEW THIS FORUM.

Perhaps no one understands because I'm posting in Swahili.

Yup. Definitely posting in Swahili.

I never notice the name of the forum when reading posts. I just click the "Ask the Community" link from the main forum page. This is the first time I even knew this forum existed :)

Account Issues has its own "issues." Because it's the first one, it tends to get a disproportionate amount of spam.

I must say, it seems like an awful lot of work to establish an identity, log on, post a spam post, have it deleted, and get banned, requiring doing it all over again. Some of the posts only last a minute or so and get no views before they're deleted. Poor use of one's time. I assume the spammers are being paid per click? If so, their pay rate per hour must be awfully low.

So are you suggesting KDP list a pair of "Potemkin Village" forums for the spam, which we would ignore, and place the real working forums underneath them? ;)

I think the account establishment is done by bots. KDP could fix this if they added anti-bot features to the account sign-up screens (there weren't any, as far as I recall, when I first signed up). I don't know what the exact situation is today.

It makes no difference to me. I simply open the Ask the Community Forum, and I see all posts to the four sub-forums. The only time I go to one of them is to make a post, and I always do that in General.

It has frustrating waiting for a sale. I really don't have means to promote my book. I have tried giving out from copies. But how much can one distribute free.

You really need to have two or three titles up before you can even begin to get any traction. Giving away your only title is kinda useless. Search for "promotion" or "ad campaign" in the forums. Or even try a direct google for something like, maybe, "KDP promotions" or "selling my Kindle book" etc.

BTW, this is a VERY lightly-viewed forum and should be left to wither. Your type of question is better suited to the "Voice of the Author" forum.

Best of luck.
