I tried to enhance sales by adding other platforms to my KDP. I can tell you that they are all complicated shit with too many buts ifs and whens. KDP is the only one I can recommend. It's simple and straightforward. So is Create Space.

I don't find them complicated. Other than formatting box sets for Smash words, I don't normally run into any issues.

YMMV

That hasn't been my experience at all. I use both D2D and Smash*words, and they're not at all complicated. the SW interface is admittedly clunky, but it works just fine.

Goo*gle Play probably has the oddest interface of them all, but it's improved considerably over the past couple of years. And they pay much faster than KDP!

Except Google Play isn't taking new accounts, and at the rate they're going, we'll all be dead by the time they do. There are some aggregators who can get into them, but it won't be your account. Anyone interested can do a web search, because it's rude to talk about competitors on another company's site.

I haven't had any issues with putting my books up anywhere. Like anything, you have to work through the process. Most everywhere will take a properly formatted epub file, and they may require a slightly different size for the cover, but other than that, it's just follow the steps. Now, whether it's worth any of that is going to be different for each author. Some do better on other sites, some on Amazon. This is Amazon's site, so we talk about them here.

Like most tasks. It is only complicated until you become an expert. Or adept at doing it..

Actually taking your time to learn and doing it is the first step to becoming expert or adept at doing it...

It is only complicated until you actually do it...

Regards and all the best.

I've been publishing direct with them for a while, but I got lucky, I guess. I must have set up my account just before the cutoff.

But, as you said, this is about KDP. However, if an author/publisher can format a good ePub file, the same file will work everywhere. There's nothing magical (or complicated) about it.
