Logging into my account today, I was asked to change my password. Apparently Amazon had a security breach last week.

Anyway, changing the password, I logged back into my account to find the book I published in November 2016 was gone and a note at the top said my Account was Incomplete.

THe book in question is still available in teh amazon store, so I'm not sure what's going on.

Has this happened to anyone else?

I answered this in another forum. Check it out; it may be important.

Did anyone else get this email? If you did, be careful! Don't click on any link in an email like that, ever.

Good luck! -- NJ

John, it would appear you are a subject of a scam. What you need - must - do is inform Amazon. You'll find a contact link bottom right of the page.

The scammer now has your new password and, therefore, access to your account. I'm guessing the "incomplete" details are your bank details, which is what they are phishing for.

DO NOT FILL ANYTHING IN. Talk to Amazon. If you have already given your bank details again, talk to your bank.

I just had the same thing happen to me. It has no link to click on. I went to the Amazon website to try to click in, and have nothing there. Both in KDP and no record of my purchases on Amazon either. All my books are still up, I just can't get to them, and I have no idea on who to contact at Amazon for help with this.

I think you may have a different issue. Unless you received and responded to a weird e-mail, it looks like you accidentally created a new account with Amazon, one through which you did not publish any books, and that's why you're seeing this. Try logging in again, using your correct e-mail and password (enter the password manually--do not trust the browser's auto-fill) and see what happens.

Best of luck. If that doesn't work, do the Contact Us at the bottom right of this screen and ask for help.

I ended up calling the Amazon Customer Hotline, and they sent me another reset password message from my main account. I think I did accidently open another account back in 2014 while trying to use a Gift Card. And Amazon is trying to streamline. So, after talking with the rep. and I was back on my main account again, KDP also worked and I could get back into my books again.

So, I'm sure there are people getting this email now that may have multiple accounts on Amazon. It will affect your KDP accounts too. So, if you have this problem, call a rep. at Amazon Customer Service, and they should be able to solve it. It took like 10 minutes to solve it for me. Now, I can get back to my evening and breath again.
