Even though I'm not making money, I know that people
are downloading them and I hope they enjoy them.
If I'm VERY lucky they might decide to buy my other
Joanna, I just had a look at your Amazon page - very impressive! No wonder it is doing well!
OK....you don't make any money out of this but you get exposure which will probably reflect in your non-free rankings further down the line.
Please let us all know how many "sold" at the end of the promo.
Congratulations, Joanna, and everyone else seeing results!
I enrolled my sci-fi novella, which has been spinning its wheels. Figured I had nothing to lose. Began a 3-day free promotion today. It rocketed up from the 200,000s to somewhere in the 1200s on kindle free within the span of six or seven hours. I hope it springboards into further sales one day, or at least people willing to look at my other stuff.
Meanwhile, my little horror novella -- which has been a steady seller -- is hardly moving for the first time since release. Not sure how much of a crossover effect I can expect from this particular promotion, but when I have more books out, maybe...
It's cool to watch. I know this sounds cheesy as heck, but I'm just really excited that people are reading it.
Hi all. Saw this on Kindleboards and wanted to pass along these sites to notify of the days you schedule your free promotions on KDP Select.
"New releases apparently don't get picked up automatically at KND. I asked Steve about it yesterday and he replied: "Our database should pick it up, but you can give it a push if you go to our eBookTracker site, register or log in in the upper right corner, and enter it manually." I went ahead and signed up and entered my book and it was picked up in their roster of freebies almost immediately.
Other sites to consider notifying in advance:
Pixel of Ink - they have an onsite form specifically for freebie notices
Ereader News Today - use the admin addie on their Contact page
Kindle on the Cheap - email form onsite
Free Kindle Books and Tips (fast becoming my favorite site!) - email Michael: kindle at gagler dot com
You can also announce the freebie at Authors on the Cheap on Facebook on the days it's free in addition to sending the notice to Kindle on the Cheap."
Have had great response to free books and it carried over to paid sales.
Here is a new one, the third in the Privateer Clause/Marsha and Danny Jones Thrillers:
The failure of the owner of the White Star Line to allow sufficient lifeboats on the Titanic led to the loss of 1635 souls.
The failure of Capt. E. J. Smith to stop the ship when encountering the ice field led to the disaster.
Now in FOLLOW TITANIC, another failure to perform an important function threatens the lives of all those aboard a 100th Anniversary Titanic cruise.
Join the passengers on the Joan of Arc as the ship follows the voyage of the Titanic: NOW PLAYING ON YOUR KINDLE ON CHRISTMAS DAY! http://www.amazon.com/Follow-Titanic-Marsha-Thriller-ebook/dp/B006PR7S02/ref=pd_rhf_dp_p_t_4
I put a historical/paranormal romance - The Scottish Selkie free for five days for promotion. On the last day (yesterday - Christmas Eve) for a few hours it moved into the #10 placed on Amazon's best seller list for free books - for Historical/Romance. None were borrowed. 3810 were read free and I got one review. The five days just ended so I don't know what results they will have on future sales and borrows.
Today my book is FREE.
What do you think, who is controlling the world: human, power or religion? There are many mysteries in religion. It is ruling our life for many years and maybe it is so now. Do you believe in this? Have you ever imagine what kind of power your body has? Have you ever felt power in you?

I'm pleased with the response to today's free offer on Arantur (first book of my epic fantasy trilogy). Over one hundred copies downloaded and I am hoping that the majority of those who read book one, will go onto purchase books two and three of the trilogy.
My books have only been up on Kindle a week now, so for Arantur to have been included in the top 100 in its respective genres is pretty thrilling. I know the ranking will subside back down to normal levels tomorrow, however the books are out, being read, hopefully the rest of the trilogy bought, and if people enjoyed it, word getting out as well.
