The works were checked and double checked against the known authors and they were not aware of the situation and they had NOT given their consent to have her republish their works under her name with a different cover at a higher price than they currently have the works set at on Amazon.

In fact, our discussions were quite tame and no actions taken until we had it verified through the true authors that their works were being stolen.

No one would have taken any action if we were not 100% sure our accusations were correct.

As onr of the authors on Literotica whose work has been plagiarized, I am certain she does not have permission. Literotica can not and does not give permission to anybody. Only the individual authors can do that, and I never have.

There is all sorts of proof that she has stolen people's stories. They are posted here under one name and they were posted earlier on Literotica under the original. I and other authors are complaining about this.

Wow Naheem, you never posted here before, but you seem to be going buck wild to prove some straight up plagiarizer is legit. It does make you a little suspect

After having browsed just the first two disgusting pages at Smashwords, I'd be ashamed to admit I ever heard of this incestuous POS if I were you.

Pardon me while I go lie in the nice clean snow.

I suggest this thread be deleted.

Aw, did someone have their delicate sensibilities hurt?

I find it ironic that an author is more offended by another author's writings, than someone stealing other authors' works.

Says a lot about you, punchy.

I choose not to read incestuous garbage, nor to promote it. Our choices do say a lot about us. And I'm no more offended by someone stealing this trash than I am by Jack the Ripper stealing Genghis Khan's dagger.

Every author who has a book on Amazon should contact them today. They should express their concern over this, and demand that Amazon uses the software available to stop this kind of activity. If nothing is said to them, it will continue to go on. This is not the first case of plagiarism on Amazon, and Amazon is aware of it, but it is going to take angry voices to get work protected on here.

And it's not like Amazon can't take legal action against those people, they are sending them a check or putting money into an account somewhere.

Then don't read it punchy. No one is forcing you to. But you're calling for the deletion of a thread that's exposing a thief of authors' stories, just because you're offended by the content of the stories being stolen.

And yeah, it's ok to steal authors' work that you happen to dislike.

You are pathetic.

I just sent this to Amazon, and I suggest if you are an author, that you follow suit.

I just read an article on Meet the Authors forum about an individual name Maria Cruz who has copied books from other authors, and put them on Amazon. I am deeply concerned about this. Secondly, an article surfaced on the Internet about this same person, and how she duped Amazon, and possibly hundreds of authors. I'd like to know what Amazon intends to do about this, and how they will protect the authors in the future. There are plenty of ways to deal with this including software applications. In order to remain in the business of E-books, and to have such a wide range of authors and materials available I would think Amazon would be looking into this with a vengeance. This is not the first case of plagiarism according to the online article. We work very hard to write a book, and when it's stolen every one of us loses. Maria Cruz was even listed in the best selling sections on Amazon. She had to have been paid by the company, either in a direct deposit or a check. Is Amazon looking into this?

"You are pathetic."

You're promoting a book glorifying mother/son incest and I'm pathetic for calling you out on it? Interesting....

Yes, you're pathetic.

I didn't realize I had to get your approval for which books I write, read or promote.

By the way, I found this question that you asked:

"Since Amazon doesn't allow PD material anymore in e-books, has anyone found any alternative places that allow you to sell PD works in mobi format?"

That sure does explain a lot. I can see why you don't have a problem with authors' work being used by others. Since you're one of the ones who want to make money off of other writers' work.

As I said, pathetic.

I fail to see where anyone is promoting anything glorifying mother/son incest. Promoting the fact that work was stolen, yes. I can't understand why any author, regardless of genre, would not want the spotlight shone on this issue, which is plagiarism and has the potential to effect us all, again, regardless of genre. I would imagine the only people who would not like this discussed are the plagiarists themselves.

Yes, it explains that I have a company that produces classic texts done right. After all, last time I checked Shakespeare, Milton, and Dante weren't able to do the work themselves.

Now if you're quite done trying to justify your immorality and lack of basic principles at my expense, perhaps you can find a child to rape and burn at the stake instead.
