I have an e-book that is ranking between 36k to 46k in the Kindle Paid store. This is a fairly good ranking for an e-book. I also noticed that the rankings have been varying throughout the day. Sometimes gets a bit higher then lower so for the rank to lower then I must be getting sales. However, during the past 4 days I only did 1 sale yesterday and another 1 in the day before.

How's that even remotely possible? I already had other books ranking about 70k getting about 4 sales in a day. Commonly, 1 sale per day is about 100k or more ranking in the paid Kindle store. I initially thought this would be something that would get corrected. However, nearly 5 days have gone by and I know this book is getting more sales and I want my money.

Besides, I have zero page read. Something is odd with Amazon lately. Their reports aren't working properly.

Maybe sales aren't what they used to be? I've only been at this 6 months and I have had ranks down into 13,000 (my best so far) and they weren't getting all that many sales. They were getting lots of page reads, which I think was the driver there. Still, I have books getting no sales that are still in the 40,000 ranks. So either this is happening to all of us together and the ranking is messed up somehow, or we're all getting more sales than we are being told.

If your books are in Kay Yu, your sales rank is affected at the time the book gets borrowed, not when it's read.

Good to know. I mean this is something I noticed during the last week or so, so I found the drastic decrease in sales odd. Also it is not the first time Amazon has a glitch in their system. Anyway, I already sent a message to their support team. Hopefully, they'll reply next year or so.
