I think I might need some help on this, unfortunately, so...

Has anyone ever used editing and/or proofreading profissionals or semi-profissionals (if that even exists)?

Can you link me a couple and/or give me an idea of how much it would cost?

Thanks a lot.

R.J. Locksley did a very good job efficiently, accurately and promptly editing down my bloated first chapter - something I had failed to achieve (probably because I was too attached to it!). Her prices are very reasonable.

Thank. I've just emailed her. Let's see what she has to say.

Thanks for the tip.

Anyone else had good experience with professional editing/proofreading?

I take in your first 30 pgs. for 90 bucks, 'autopsy' the opening of the book and do all I can to resuscitate....My Knife Lit. Services in this manner help you determine if you wish to go any further, working with a heartless, butcher with a bone saw -- a professional author with 50 books on Kindle, forfty of which were published earlier by NYC publishers or NOT. I keep the pricing simple math at 3 bucks a page. Given time and energy, it is the cheapest I can do it and remain a working novelist myself.

haha! You made me laugh! :)
30 pgs? That's hard to evaluate. Times Roman 12, spacing 1,5? I have loads of dialogue.

Don't you have a price in terms of words?
