Hi. Just put my eBook, The Keepers Secret on free promotion for next Friday 8th Sept. It's a perfect opportunity to get it free and then post a review for me. That would be great. Cheers.

Feedback from these forums is not always kind.
Such as:
1- Why the big red X?
2- Why the lines between paragraphs?
3- Why are no paragraphs indented?
4- Some people would appreciate words with chapter titles.

I took a Look Inside and got the sense that there's a decent story there lurking beneath all the grammar issues and past/present tense changes and POV changes without warning and the repeated phrases and sentence structures and infodumps. I would definitely hire an editor to spray their red ink around so you can reveal the diamond that awaits a good polishing. Plus add a good cover that conveys fantasy. Sure, it's a bit of up front cost, but worth it when you've written a 500+ page book.

Yes, I've now cancelled all engagements for the day specially to download your book so I can read and give a sparkling review. Careful what you wish for. This is not a promotion forum.

Okay. Do you have ONE Keeper? Then your title should be The Keeper's Secret. More than one Keeper? Then your title should be The Keepers' Secret. More than one Secret? Then either The Keeper's Secrets or The Keepers' Secrets.

BUT IN NO CASE SHOULD YOUR TITLE BE THE KEEPERS SECRET.

How can you write and publish an entire novel and make a mistake in the title? Do you know anything about the English language you claim to write in? Come on!

Thank you for saying that, Campcomms. I wanted to, but was afraid I'd be labeled a grammar (or punctuation) freak.

This isn't the place to advertise your book.

What do you care? Are you afraid someone may get a sale because of it - not likely. There are regulars on this forum who have been promoting themselves for years and nobody objects.

Since I've joined, I've seen objections all the time. I don't mind but others seem to.

I was clever and hid it in my profile. It's a short story for $0.99. The 100k tome is still being looked over but I hope to have that out by the end of this month.

Name: The Archmage's Eclipse
Genre: Fantasy
Blurb:

Hedgewitch Marjery's recent Vision spells doom for the world: The evil warlock king Diarmid plans to use the upcoming eclipse to raise an army of demons to enslave the world. The only person who has a chance of stopping him is her husband, the Archmage Ecksander.

But Ecksander faced Diarmid once before and almost died. Four years later, he still bears the scars from that battle and now his mind is failing.

In one last adventure together, husband and wife square off to face evil in a deadly confrontation that will decide the fate of the world.

This is a standalone short story in the Darklight Universe inspired by the Aug 21, 2017 eclipse event.

See how easy that was. Excellent! Now about your book. First off, I can tell you're a practiced writer who has a grasp on the readers you wish to attract. Even though I'm not a fan of your genre, you certainly captured my attention. Now, I can't wait to read your book. Keep up the good work, I see a great future for you. Thanks for the reply.

Thanks for the compliment. You could say I'm a very practiced reader and used that to hopefully assist my writing which I'm quite new at.

And most of those regulars post skilled information that saves many new writers much searching toil and frustration in seeking answers. To me that is a fair trade off. Do you want a forum where endless book promotions gradually flood everything so that valuable advice is driven out? If you were to regularly post with helpful information, I'm sure most would not gripe at a modest line of promotion. And in many of your posts you appear to complain about Amazon's shortcomings so much, I wonder why you bother keep using its services.
