I selected kindle matchbook for my ebook section. that means readers who buy my paperback can get my ebook for 2.99$.
However, an error message cropped up there. It said "check your entries". When I checked my entries, I could not find anything wrong , like price mis-match etc. So after some searching, I deslected the matchbook option. After that it was fine.
Now my ebook is ready and priced at 9.99. It was a 14 MB word file. After conversion it became 2.9 MB. and kindle says the max price can be only 9.99. I feel it is less.

You feel what is less?
Max price would be the highest you can price it, per your note above.

Your price range is $2.99 - $9.99 for the 70 percent royalty.

Almost no self-pubbers start out at $9.99. That is serious money for most shoppers.

I've never had a problem with Matchbook (my Guide is free for the ebook for those who buy the paperback) and don't understand your problem. Nor do I have any idea what "entities" would mean in this case.

even though the price is 9.99, it is actually selling at 6.48 in US. In canada it is 9.99.
i do not know why is that. My book is a heavy duty book and has 20 images, 65000 words, 300 pages. Its price should be 15$ actually.

by the way, my paperback is not showing "live" . It is shown as draft stage. I set it for publishing on 24th and the ebook on 25th but paperback is still not showing as live. Everything is done for both books and nothing remains to be done. Today i again clicked set-up and went through all steps again so now it is showing "in review".

I have another question. can we change the ebook file? or paperback file. I just want to change some images to greyscale? the rest of the manuscript is as it is. Converting some images to greyscale can bring down the price of paperback.

thanks and warm regards to all.

If you are logged into a CND account then the pricing you see on the US site will reflect the CND store (your home store) price converted to USD. If you are logged out you should see the USD price that US customers will see. This often happens when the CND and US price are set the same (do to the currency conversion rate)

I would suggest that your very few ebooks are worth $15 (and almost none are worth pricing that way from a royalty perspective) Unless you have built a name for yourself or are a respected expert in the field of your book it is rare that you would be able to price at $15 and sell well. The market just isn't there in most cases.

As to paperback, to adjust the price you would need to convert ALL images to greyscale. as the pod production price is either for a b&w book or a full color book. If you have a single color image (or text) you are charged for the color book production price.

You won't get anywhere if you insist that the book is "worth" more than people will pay, or if you insist that everything is done when obviously not everything WAS done. I suspect you didn't click on Publish the first time around.

The price will be whatever you set in USD in the pricing section, and in CAD, GBP, EUR etc if you set separate prices for other countries (as I always do). Give us the ASIN and someone will check the US price for you.

Amazon sometimes price-matches if it sees a lower price elsewhere. There are also limits on how different the prices can be between countries.

In the ebook, use color wherever you have it, because it improves the experience on Fire tablets and the various apps (though not on the e-ink Kindles, which are grayscale). In the print edition, use grayscale to keep the price within reason. And my best advice is to stop using KDP Print.
