As I mentioned last month, I decided to try running a quarter-page ad in Locus, which is the main magazine about Science Fiction and Fantasy. They've reviewed almost all of my books over the years (both trad published and CreateSpace).
Not cheap! But I figure I need something to push me into a higher sales rank. (Three Bookbub promotions over a year and a half certainly did so, but BB has stopped accepting me, and my overall sales have gradually faded.)
Anyway, the new issue came out today with my ad! Looks good. No sales yet. I'm especially hopeful that specialty stores (yes, I know, there are only a few left) will order paperback copies through Extended Distribution. Some ebook sales would also not be amiss.
It's not on the on-line Locus site. Those ads cost more. It's in the magazine itself (October issue, just came out). Page 53. In a quarter page I was able to get images of two covers, with ISBNs and price, and a few words about newly available and a couple very short review quotes.
