I do that as well - when I am taking a break during late night writing sessions.
The cat takes absolutely no notice.

QUICKER WAY TO KILL SPAM WHEN FORUMS ARE S-L-O-W ...

Instead of clicking on the spam thread, right-click and open in new tab.

Then, after flagging it, you don't have to do the "Back to thread list" button--just X out the tab at the top.

And as far as the forums being slow, I have to ask, WHY? Is KDP running the forum software on a 286 again? Really.

For me the forums are slow only when I am logged in.
Good idea on the 'new tab'.
I found yesterday that if I click on just the posters name (spam poster), that it will take me to the post to delete it. But then I still have to maneuver back to the forum. Normally I have been just been hitting the back - back button after doing a spam delete.

An overload with the number '8' just dropped by to say hello.
I sent a note to customer service asking them to remove them AND to stop all posts with an '8' in the subject area.

I've just whacked 5 pages of spam in the last 40 minutes, most of it in Account Issues, and most of it Face*ook numbers, and still it keeps coming!

Did everyone else go on a daytrip and forget to tell me? I'm off out now, so one of the other 2235 guests currently staring at the community pages can take over while I give my poor RSI a break.

Open message (best to right click and open in new tab so you can do multiple at once) - Click on Yellow triangle - dropdown select Spam - Report Abuse - close tab

Rinse and repeat!

It's as easy as that.

Just got back after 4 hours and there's 4 pages worth, probably two hours of spams sitting waiting, and I haven't looked beyond the Account Issues forum.

Can't any of the other 2400+ visitors see it? Or are they all the bots who're planting it?

At 15 per page, I whacked about 180 yesterday. I've noticed a dramatic increase in them recently, especially those stupid fb ones with the smiley faces.

What I don't understand is why so many people ignore them or leave them for others to clear up. I think there are no more than a dozen of us clearing the vast majority of them, which means everyone else is sitting around doing nothing.

Extremely frustrating!

Indeed. And with the forum as slow as it is, my trick of opening-in-new-tab, etc., is the only way I make any headway.

I'm ready to let the spam accumulate in this forum and only bump up this thread so that it stays near the top, like we did before.
