My books have been enrolled in KDP Select for over a year and I take advantage of the free 5 day downloads for each book's 90 day enrollment cycle. In that time, I have noticed a steady drop in Amazon's reimbursement for each page read despite its burgeoning ($19 million) KDP Select treasure chest. Here are my figures:

Oct. 2016 = 0.52 cent per page
Jan. 2017 =0.48 cent per page
April 2017 = 0.46 cent per page
June 2017 = 0.42 cent per page
July 2017 = 0.4 cent per page

This reduction seems small at first, but if you have 50,000 to 100,000 pages read in a month, it becomes significant and a negative reward for
an author enrolled in KDP Select. Has anyone noticed this steady drop? If this trend continues, the page reimbursement will be in the 0.3 cent range before this year is up. (Gary Naiman)

Everyone has noticed.
FYI: It is not '3 cent range'. You need to add a zero = .03 (three tenth of a cent).

The trend began with the introduction of Kay Yu 2.0 a year ago. Some of us started taking our books out of Kay Yu back then and are doing nicely on the other channels.

Amazon is just engaged in a massive frog-boiling experiment. So far, the frogs are still swimming around, perhaps not happy, but not jumping out of the pot in significant numbers.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)

Good luck! -- NJ

And, for every frog jumping out, there are hundreds of tadpoles jumping in.
