If you have to embed a font, you have entered a territory where I never venture.

I dont know the problem is still there. I successfully submitted a book in Malayalam. I used google input tools for typing in Malayalam and used Karthika font. It looks messed up in kindle create app. But after uploading it looks same as the original. If you wrote your book in other font space rather than unicode, try to convert them using typeit or any other unicode convertor. Hope this help you

You cannot "embed" fonts, of ANY kind, English or otherwise, using Word. If you need to embed a font, you need to use HTML/ePUB format. Otherwise, your fonts won't be "carried."

Well, Indian language like Malayalam is currently under beta stage. So there is no option to use other format than doc, docx file. I successfully published my first book in Malayalam. https://www.amazon.in/HENRI-GENIUS-GRAVITY-MACHINE-INVENTION-MALAYALAM-ebook/dp/B076CFWKXG

It looks like you uploaded a PDF. That's certainly a solution to the problem, but the reading experience leaves a lot to be desired.

And if Malayalam is not a supported language, the book may well be blocked by Amazon when it discovers that fact.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)

Thanks

Sorry, I think my previous post make a confusion.
I uploaded DOCX file for Malayalam. Malayalam is a supported language by Amazon, but it is in beta stage. So we can upload word file only. No pdf, no kindle versions.
Using google input tool is the best way to type Indian language, because it is widely supported.

Malayalam sans is the default font available for kindle. But using Karthika UI, Nirmala UI font is acceptable ( I used both), and are converted to Malayalam sans after upload finish.
I had problems with Title creation in Cover page section because the Malayalam characters are not displayed correctly (90% correct). സമീര്‍ (sameer) is the correct in Malayalam, but in Title creation it displayed സമീര് (sameeru). But inside the book all thinks come good as the original.

because of this issue I used custom cover page and it failed to convert all manuscript. I used TIFF image. After two days I got message from KDP suggesting to use JPEG instead of TIFF.
And I did the same.
But still in custom cover page you can see TIFF or JPEG. I think it is available for English and other famous Languages.

I hope it will help upcoming Malayalam writers who want to publish theiir first book in KDP.

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B076CFWKXG is my book.

I am a beginner in this field. I dont know much about DTP. I am a motion/3d designer by profession.

There was a discussion on MobileReads "Kindle Formats" forum the other week to the effect that there is a reference in the newest Kindle software to Malayalam, but pointing out that the fonts were not yet included on the devices. So true support for the language seems to be promised but not yet available.

.
I think Bangali is not supported yet.

According to Amazon
We are excited to announce a new beta program that allows KDP authors to publish eBooks in five Indian languages: Hindi, Tamil, Marathi, Gujarati and Malayalam.
