Hi - I've written some gamebooks of the Choose Your Own Adventure style - Does anyone now how I go about inserting links in the text so that when clicked they jump to the next section that I specify? IE: 'If you want to go outside, _CLICK HERE_' and the click takes you to a passage elsewhere in the book.

Is it a case of using hyperlinks or the cross reference tool in Word? I'm using open office but can probably figure it out if you guys give us a hint!

Cheers,

Dan

I would use hyperlinks, and I suspect that that's what Word uses for cross-referencing.

Be aware that jumping about in a book might get you into trouble on KDP Select. Amazon doesn't like people who link to the back of the book in the first page of the book, which for a time was a favorite way to scam the Kindle Unlimited pages-read.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)

Good luck! -- NJ
