I published my novel on KDP Direct. I set the selling price at $6.99/£5.35. But I am only getting 3p in royalties per book!! Can anybody help me understand why it is so low? Thank you!

I assume your base cost of production only leaves that much. You should have been able to see that when you set up the pricing.

Does it cost more money to be glossy rather than matte? And 5.5x8.5 rather than 5x8?

Jason, do yourself a favor -- get ouf of KDP Print, go to CreateSpace, and do it right.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)

Good luck! -- NJ

You need to go back to your pricing page to answer these questions. It depends on trim size, age count and many other factors. Know what your base cost and royalty are before publishing. For a POD paperback your royalty should reasonably be about a dollar per unit.
