I had the same problem and there were no highlighted areas however, i found that if you have your own isbn be sure to give the correct imprint name.

Use CreateSpace. Save yourself the grief, sell on Barnes & Noble, get discounted author copies, etc etc etc.

They're all above the pricing for each region, and they're not highlighted.

there is NO Terms of Service Box to check...i have same issue of these ghost errors to fix. Good God why does this platform have to be such a piece of doodoo and still so buggy given the amount of $
Amazon makes. This should be a first class process and able to be done with no hassle. the whole process has been nothing but a hassle.

NOTE TO AMAZON/KINDLE: FIX THESE ISSUES INSTEAD OF TRYING TO FIGURE OUT HOW TO TAKE MORE % FROM YOUR AUTHORS. IF THIS WAS A FIRST CLASS PROCESS IT MIGHT
BE WORTH THE % WE GIVE UP AS AUTHORS TO PUBLISH HERE.

I had this problem. The price in Japan was below the minimum. It wasn't highlighted, and the page wrongly showed a royalty in yen even though the price was too low. So check all of your Other Marketplace prices against the minimum.

You guys could have saved a lot of time and aggravation by researching stuff before you jumped in. It's a well-known fact that KDP Print is in beta and is buggy for a lot of people. Goodness knows, there are enough threads about it here.

That said, try using a different browser, and/or try scrolling in to enlarge the screen so you can see the red lines. They're awfully hard to see even in Firefox, and it drives me to want to pull my hair out if I miss something and can't see where it happened.

To my shock and amazement, this was my problem as well. They must have changed the minimum since the last time I published. Thank you very much.

hi,

I faced the same issue while uploading my first book. after many times I had gone through all parameters and then found the issue- see carefully, On the first page, if u selected public domain then match the option of selected territories on the third page which country u want to publish. or if u selected your own registered domain or copyright on the first page then will select all territories.
that's it, I hope this will work to u guys.

thanks.

So now I am trying to deal with this problem. I've read over the thread and tried the various suggested solutions:

1.) made sure the imprint name, from Bowker, is correct

2.) made sure the royalties are correct, even in Japan

3.) used different browsers: Firefox, Chrome and Safari

4.) Made sure the copyright question on the first tab matches the ones on the 3rd tab (I own all necessary publishing rights, I am publishing worldwide)

And still I get this error:

"Please fix the highlighted error(s) to continue."

But there are no errors that have been highlighted. There is nothing obvious to fix.

I've run out of ideas about what I can check and what I can fix.

If you already have a cover, even just a front cover, and if your book is in PDF form, then you can get this pushed through CreateSpace in under a day (it may take a couple of days for them to approve your book).

Unless someone gives you an epiphany, I'd consider abandoning KDP Print Beta and going with CreateSpace (CreateSpace is also an Amazon company, so they play well together).

If you decide to go with CreateSpace, two things to note:

1) Sales there will not show on your Reports page--you'll need to spend five seconds to log in to your CreateSpace dashboard to see your sales.
2) CreateSpace at some point in the process will offer to do your e-book for you. You say NO, or skip that step. E-books is the one thing you don't want CreateSpace to do for you.

How is that Amazon has been unable to work out the bugs in this system? It's been over a year now.

All I need is some explanation of what is actually wrong. The text of the message is too vague: "Please fix the highlighted error(s) to continue." There are no highlighted errors, so I don't know what to fix. I have already carefully checked all of the issues that other people have mentioned in this thread (copyright, Japanese minimum price, etc).

So in my case, the problem was a one word difference between the title I typed into KDP, versus the title I typed into Bowker. And it came down to typing a "3" as "three".

In Bowker:

How to destroy a tech startup in three easy steps

In KDP

How to destroy a tech startup in 3 easy steps

Lawrence, why in hades did you persist in beating your head against the Beta block? On CreateSpace, you can actually get a human being on the telephone.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)
