Kindle Create Add-In for Microsoft Word

Hi everyone. My version of Microsoft Word is Word 2016. I downloaded and installed Kindle Create Add-In for Microsoft Word.
Then I decided it would not suit me (don't worry, I'm going to download Kindle Create later!)
I uninstalled Kindle Create Add-In for Microsoft Word. I search for it on my computer and it doesn't come up anyone. It seems to be deleted completely.
But it has radically changed how all my Microsoft Word documents look! Even though they are in my usual font, size, etc. and I have clicked clear formatting. Also, the kindle tab keeps coming up on the toolbar.
Can someone tell me how I can completely remove what kindle has done, so Microsoft Word 2016 will go back to looking how it did?
Cheers Emma

You can use the Contact Us option (bottom of this page, right side) to ask Support for help.

Sorry to get the down-vote on the Word add-in. I was beginning to think that Kindle Create had some purpose in life. I hope you will report on your experience in using the KC template itself.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)

Good luck! -- NJ

Is Kindle Create Add-In for Microsoft Word a new thing, or has it been around a while? I use a third-party program (Ultimate eBook Creator, which I've blogged about: http://pifflesnoot.com/2017/09/30/publishing-tools-use-ultimate-ebook-creator/), but I'm always interested in the different tools available for this task. I should probably mention it on my blog, too.

My guess to fix it is to uninstall word and reinstall it. The program sounds like it made changes to word so the only way to remove them is a reinstall. Of coarse that would reset everything, which is something you may not want.

Hi yes I've gone through that process. The Kindle Create Add-In refused to complete uninstall. Some files that made it up were un-deletable. All my computer could offer was to permanently disable those files, which didn't do any good. Update: I seem to have deleted it entirely now through the Word "Options" menu, and the text still won't go back to how it was.

Update: looks like it is fixed, folks! An adorable stranger online, who I just happened to bump into for unconnected reasons, fixed the problem. She could see something I couldn't. Thanks everyone for your support.

Crash Fix for Kindle Create Add-In for Microsoft Word?

Emma Kathryn,

That's great news! - for you, and also for those (like myself) who are faced with the same problem.

Three questions in that regard:

1) What did the adorable online stranger fix: completely uninstalling "Kindle Create Add-In," or actually getting it to work?

2) What did she see that you couldn't?

3) What did she do to resolve the issue?

Myself, I'm on the verge of buying Word (or Office) 2010, uninstalling Office 2016, installing Word (or Office) 2010, installing "Kindle Create Add-In" in Word 2010, and then reinstalling Office 2016. But on all my computers?! A suboptimal solution at best.

Meanwhile, congratulations on your own fix!

Right now I'm envisioning a geek-themed TV series, "The Adorable Online Stranger," to the tune of: https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=QCO6smQrjJ8
