AMS UK is up and running, but I can't get on from the US. Has anyone here been able to make it on yet?

I tried some time ago to set up an account for the UK, ran around in circles with the customer support bots, and eventually gave up. Maybe you'll have better luck.

I also have tried and got differing answers. One said to open an Advantage account and wait 90 days. Another asked if I wanted to be a seller or a vendor.

I think it takes a Vendor express account, but I haven't gotten an answer back to this one.

I'm in the US and last night I tried to upload an AMS ad from my Bookshelf (link from the book). The darn thing locked up and went gray went I went to send it in. SO, I went to my AMS report page and got it on. I assume that was for the US though.

I'm in the UK and tried last week to get an AMS account but received a reply stating that I had to have a live Vendor/Seller account. I went around in circles and gave up. To be a Vendor you must receive an invitation from Amazon and be given a registration key. A Seller account seems to be for businesses to sell physical items through Amazon. I couldn't find any way to use AMS UK as an author.

They have a vendor express account which doesn't require an invitation. Since you are in the UK I think you can get on AMS through that method. There is the issue with the VAT but that may not be a problem for you. I would have to open a UK bank account to make this happen since I'm in the US, so I am waiting for now on this.

Someone was told it will open up to all authors soon though.

Unfortunately 'soon' means nothing in Amazon terms.
They said we could get author copies if using KDP Print 'soon' too, that was months ago (iirc), and still nothing has changed.
