I don't read romance and I felt like I could read it. The blurb, very interesting. Good cover. Didn't read the preview. Honestly if I liked romance I'd get the book without reading the preview probably.

But i don't know how it compares to other romance presentations.

Maybe a romance person can help.....cue Mrs. Evans my love :)

Hello Justin,

I have responded to the OP, but it appears they have reported so many posts as being 'ab*se', every post now seems to be going to m*deration.

Oh dear. No doubt they'll reappear later.

J

To the OP - apologies - in the other post (which will come though later) I addressed you as 'Frank'. I was sure I originally typed your full name, but must have messed up somehow. I didn't want you to think I was being rude.

No clue where my post went but i wasn't trying to be rude, only helpful. Don't be discouraged, that is how forums are, all of them. I tend to stay in the background to avoid it and offer advice when i can. I do wish you the best.

Sam,

I made some extremely useful, constructive suggestions, imho, as well, and a number of comments that I think the OP might have benefited from. Unfortunately, unless the Zon has a serious backlog in m*deration, thanks to the censorship on this thread, they'll never know what I said, and I've wasted a considerable amount of time.

Extremely frustrated. J :(

Julia, you can see from the OP's response that he/she was looking for praise and not constructive suggestions.

I'm sure your message was read, so don't be disheartened.

Well, it seems as if OP has left. I learned early on that this isn't a place for sensitive people, you need a tough skin here. Sadly, as I said, that seems to be how most forums are (I had similar issues on a Labrador forum even).

OP - If you do come back to read this - The best advice I can give you is to never take anything on here personally. Part of putting your work out there is getting feedback and it wont always be kind. The thing to remember is that writing is a form of expression and nearly every writer has their own personal preference when it come to just about everything. That is the wonder of readers as well, everyone likes different things. I am a big reader but, for example, I can't read the 50SG books. The way it was written, all the I's, just drives me crazy but i like the story and own the books anyway. Anyway, my point is, don't take anything personally and look at it as constructive criticism.

I see you've taken your bat and ball and run home wailing.

Deleting posts you don't agree with, doesn't change the fact that your cover is bad and your writing needs more work.

As for your reviews- they look very suss.

As someone else mentioned (who you deleted) "Something's rotten in the state of Denmark"

Tink, you already did the damage and knocked the guy down so there is no reason for you to come back and kick him. Okay, you don't like the cover, we get it. The fact is that there are others out there that will and, IMHO, it resembles other covers I have seen in the bookstore. Not saying you need to be nice but instead of just trashing it maybe offer advice on what you would change, or anything that is somewhat helpful.

Sorry Wilai, I didn't see your message earlier.

No, my message wasn't read, as it went straight to moderation.

Don't worry, I'm not disheartened, just annoyed at the wasted time I could've spent reducing the International Ironing mountain!

Shows how much attention to detail you pay - that "guy" is a woman.

Thank you, everyone, for taking the time to give your opinions. I have read all your posts (even though I don't have the time to answer personally to everyone) and have taken everything into consideration. I have since deleted my original posts, as this thread is now closed. Thank you for understanding.

OP.

Having seen the way you have shamefully engaged the Zon to effectively censor this thread to a level previously unseen in the community, including discussi*ns between other posters which, frankly, had NOTHING to do with you, I'm now extremely glad my post went to m*deration and vanished.

I actually wasted a lot of my time trying to give you some helpful and considered pointers, none of which was critical or rude, and all of which you could have benefited from.

My feelings now are that you don't deserve my help, or anyone else's here.

Nobody made you post your book, so please stop acting like a victim. I think you would have been better served ignoring the posts which gave nothing constructive, and taking what you could've from the rest.

As it is, you've now made sure your name will be remembered on the community for a while, and sadly with no great fondness.
