Publish books in 2 different languages

Hi,

I normally write my books in 2 different languages and then publish them one by one on Amazon KDP in 2 separate accounts.

I want to include reference to each both in another's display page in Amazon. (Not in the book content but display page of Amazon)

Something like "Want to read the same story in Hindi? Click here. (This should point to the Amazon book page in Hindi.) "

Which section of book details can I use for this purpose?

Can I use book description? Do I need to use something else?

You are saying two different accounts. If you are saying what it sounds like, you can get yourself into big trouble with the zon. You should have only one account and should ask that they merge them. As far as referring one book to the other, you can mention whatever in your blurb.

Hi

Thanks a lot for your reply.

When I mean 2 different accounts, I mean that I have 2 different email addresses.

But they both belong to me.

I used one each for creating 2 different accounts.

I would like to use one account for publishing story in Hindi and other for publishing the same story in English.

I do not want to merge them as it would clutter my account with similar looking 2 sets of books one for each language.

In face I even wrote to Amazon regarding this and got back a response that this is OK although this is confusing me now.

All I need is one account to publish in Hindi and other in English as I want to keep them separate.

Would you be able to guide me how to handle this?

Also I have used same pen name as my name in Author / Publisher name is Author / Publisher name of account.

Now I am getting information in forums here that it has to be my real name and not pen name.

If this is true then it would imply that I can have only one account since I can't have 2 accounts having same Author name. ☺☺

In that case I would have no option but to merge them.

Would be sad for me though.

I would love to hear your opinion on both these issues.

Thanks

Here is what I got back from Amazon

"Yes it's perfectly all right to have 2 kdp accounts with 2 different email address and bank accounts."

Not sure how I can use same real Author name in 2 different accounts though.

Thanks

People usually do that for Author Central when they use more than 3 names (or what is allowed there now concerning pen names).

You can put three (maybe more now) pen names under one account at Author Central.

Also I have used same pen name as my name in Author / Publisher name is Author / Publisher name of account.

This would be your main account. The account that you are responsible for taxes thru. This should be your legal name. You can publish under any name/s under your main account.

No, it is not all right to have two accounts with two different bank accounts. If you got this info from KDP, they told you wrong. People have been banned for this.

It's easiest by far to have just one account. Then you have the same name if you want on all books (either your real name or a pen name--you do need your real name on your account but it doesn't have to be on the books).

Call one version of your book "English language version" and the other "Hindi language version" as a subtitle. Ask Amazon to link them (giving the ASINs). Then they will appear together.

I'm with Dale. This has long been considered a violation of the TOS that can get YOU blocked from the KDP. I would straighten this out right away. It is far more important than linking to the other-language book, which I will happily help you with when the time comes.

Start a new support ticket, explain what you've done -- that you have actually published ebooks under two different accounts, and presumably with the same tax identification number -- and that you want to combine them.

Also apologize.

Dale and I may be wrong about this, but I really don't think so!

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook.)

Good luck! -- NJ

Thanks a lot NJ , Dale and Donna,

I have explained this situation to Amazon via a support ticket and asked them to merge these 2 accounts into 1 although I do have their written confirmation that this was OK. Probably there may be some misunderstanding in what I am saying and what they interpreted.

In any case I decided to go along with your advice and explained this to them. Let's hope that this is sorted out soon.

I will see and let you know how it went.

Thanks a lot for your feedback and help.
