It is not your book. It just takes time for it to be known. :)

Here's something to consider re the zero sales.

My book Leaving London, as well as a book of short stories and some single short stories, have all been out for around a year. I had initial sales but nothing steady and I also gave away perhaps 100 copies through Kindle promotions. I didn't think the KDP promotions did anything for sales and certainly didn't help with reviews so I stopped using it.

A few months ago I decided to try KDP again and just after I enrolled a friend said she had been sent an advertising blurb from Amazon about my book. My sales suddenly began picking up - nothing spectacular maybe one to three copies per day for a period of three weeks during July.

One again though the sales have disappeared although have had around a 1000 KENP reads.

I know Amazon won't really do anything to promote your book in the long-term but changing up your keywords now and again does also seem to help a little - if you can find the right combinations, which does take trial and error.

If you want an honest opinion, you'll need to provide one of your book titles. Without seeing the cover and reading the synopsis/sample pages, we can't give honest feedback.

Hello Heather,

I had the same problem. Advertising is very hard to do!

I myself Mr. Wolf Kinzurdia .. Advertised my book before we dropped it out there or use the site to make T-shirts , Hats , Business cards , and Stickers . I am the one that has a hydride to promote-
things . I don't know why we are not making it as well. A lot of people don't read anymore because of video games, comic books.

What I done is a lot to keep people hyped up , But keep in mind it takes time for books to hit. But in the meantime go over your book make sure you have no grammar errors in it too many can hurt your story . (Have proof readers look over the book to help you fix the grammar )

I hope this advice helps you out?

Sincerely
S.Wolf : creator of Kinzurdia series

Responding to a 5-year-old dead thread is as ludicrous as getting grammar and proofreading advice from someone who writes "What I done is a lot to keep people hyped up..."

I had a pro editor and it made a world of difference. I am decent at catching my own mistakes, but no-one can catch them like someone else! I often hear that my book is "extremely well written" in reviews, which is nice to hear. It means that the reader is able to focus on the story and not get caught on distracting things.

If you don't want to go the pro-editor route, download a "reader app" that will read your book aloud to you. Pick a good voice (maybe pay 3 bucks for the Australian girl) so it doesn't sound like Steven Hawking. Then listen to your book on your phone, while at the grocery store, while running or walking your dog, etc. You'll HEAR the errors loud and clear - I promise you!

Here's a good one!

Also - and here is where I quote the film Serenity, if you do hire an editor make sure they LOVE your work, or they'll just point out your mistakes and not any any value. My editor really liked my book and one day I asked her if anything was missing - i write pretty lean. She told me to add a chapter that defined the relationship between my 3 characters. Wow - an editor asking a writer to add stuff!!! So I did and it's pretty much my favorite chapter. It helps set all the pins up, so I can knock them down later.

Love keeps her in the air when she ought to fall down... tells you she's hurting before she keens. Makes her a home.

I am facing the same issues. I have people giving extremely good review to me by messaging verbally too. But people are too lazy to write on Amazon. I am unable to understand why exactly is it not selling. I sold several copies on first 5 day free promotion., changed title to increase its visibility, everyone who read it, Loved it and people are asking me to make a sequel out of it. but, I don't understand why it is not getting sold. The minimum price is what I have kept for it. The book is named as PHANTOM: A Living Dead. As per my knowledge, millions of people like to read horror, mystery and psycho stuff. If this book is an extraordinary combo of that with an icing of suspense, then why is the book not getting sold at all?

This is the link to my book. Kindly give me your feedback as I genuinely need your help as soon as you get the solution. Thanks in advance.

It's not a good idea to resurrect a long dead thread, but as the deed is done, here are my thoughts.

Your title doesn't make sense. 'Phantom: A Living Dead' what?

Your blurb is awful, with nonsensical sentences, rounded off with the truly ghastly - 'Everything that is happening with him is a reality? Or illusion? Is life playing game with him? Let's try to find out !'

Your cover says - 'Horror/Thriller/Psycho/Mystery' across the bottom. Is this a 'Find the odd word out' competition? FYI, it's 'Psycho'.

Your LI shows your book cover twice, but absolutely nothing of your story, probably because your masterpiece barely makes 23 pages, even when two of the pages are covers!

I'm thinking the lack of any readable material is a blessing.

You didn't sell any copies in your 5 day promotion, you gave them away. That's because people will download free books in the knowledge that they can ditch them after a page if they turn out to be rubbish, and not be out of pocket. People spending money are far more particular.

I'm sure others will offer ideas as to why you have no sales.

But FWTW these were mine. J
