Writers are spending more time these days to market their book rather than doing what they want to do namely writing. We seem to feed a monster producing more books than McDonalds is producing Hamburgers. Mind you some hamburgers can be stacked away and kept in a wardrobe for years, still eatable but not eaten because consumers prefer fresh Hamburgers.
We are competing to produce the perfect Hamburger to feed the abyss rather than fight the abyss threatening to devour the earth. The natural science have lost their battle against the princes of hell and have become their allies. Economy has become the science of greed and chemistry and physics are producing what the rich and mighty want and not what the world and humans need to survive. It is up to the poets again to find the real science allowing human beings to reach a superior understanding of the universe and help people to discover the super soul in themselves allowing them to connect with God.
The world is connected with the abyss like Captain Ahab in Melville's Mobby Dick. The world is lost in the traps of greed leading deeper into the abyss and closer to destructin. As the end of abyss is destruction. Authors should read the bible before writing books.
I don't think of earning an honest living as greed. Coveting your neighbors' stuff and not working to earn what you need and want is greed.
A punk told me once that no man is free if he has to work for a living. I told him I do not converse with little boys and to come back when or if he grows up, then we can talk about the meaning of life... or the price of eggs in China.
No, earning a buck is not greed, it's necessary to keep from starving and part of the facts of life, otherwise known as reality.
