I have began my account about a week ago. Today, I arrived at the place where the manuscript is downloaded and it is not happening. Lower down the Bookshelf, at the Kindle ebook preview, it says, "Your book cannot be downloaded." Please advise. Is this because the account is new? Maybe technical? I click the, "Upload ebook manuscript," and it does not appear anything happens after I select the title from the file and double-click to load.

Here's a guess: did you use Kindle Textbook Creator, by any chance? Or one of the other Kindle book-making apps?

There were several plaints along this line a couple days ago. Maybe there's a glitch. It certainly has nothing to do with the account's being new.

But I'm confused. You speak of downloading and uploading in the same paragraphs. Are you trying to send your book to the KDP or fetch it from the KDP? Has it actually uploaded and converted? Can you preview it on the online preview?

Thanks for the details! I don't use Kindle Create, though I tried it once and am reasonably sure I got far enough along that I downloaded a copy to preview. Do you have Kindle Previewer (a separately downloaded software) installed?

Yes I have the Kindle previewer installed

the preview looks fine using it

I created a 2nd version of the book as a test and it still won't allow me to download a preview from the kpf

I was able to download a preview using a word doc which has formatting issues, I would need to use a html version to ensure rectification of those formatting issues

If you genuinely don't want to give up Kindle Create, then publish it and buy a copy as soon as it's available. (You'll get your royalty and a bump in sales rank.) Then un-publish the book while you check it out.

Why would using create space project team and KDP services to format and add a cover to your book?
I want to download a PDF copy for use in a social media campaign that should improve word of mouth traffic and there seemingly no where I can download the file, and strangely it seems that the files were never e-mailed to me.
Sincerely,

The OP was apparently using Kindle Create, which is Amazon's attempt to build an ebook formatting software something like Vellum. It has nothing to do with CreateSpace, which is a paperback service owned by Amazon.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)
