I feel at this point I need to share with others the problem we are experiencing. We had 30 books sold November 13th that have yet to show up on Dashboard. We have provided proof to Amazon customer care and as of today's date have no resolution. We were first told the sales didn't exist until we produced the purchase order from the customer. Then we were told this was an accounting glitch affecting "MANY AUTHORS". This leads me to believe we may be missing more sales than we know and you may be one of the affected authors who have sales missing but don't know it. We have gone as far as speaking with corporate, a week ago, they too have confirmed the sales but yet to update our dashboard. This not only affects royalties but ratings on Amazon and Nielsen ratings. As a small publisher, any missing sale is detrimental to our relationships with authors and growth as a company. If this thread isn't deleted by a forum admin, if anyone has advice on how to move forward, please comment below.

I am having the same problem! I released my book at the end of November, and several friends and family members have told me that they have bought copies, but as of today it's only showing that I have sold two books. I'm wondering how many others I have sold that I don't know about. What the heck Amazon! We self-published authors work so hard to get our books out there. We're trusting you, please do your part! This is unacceptable.

Keep in mind that very often friends and family lie. They may have read the Look Inside but never made a purchase.
You may want to put your 'buyer' in the embarrassing situation of asking for a copy of their purchase.

They've informed some of us that they're working on it, but no timeline for resolution was given. I've seen most of my "unconverted" orders from last month show up as sales, but they're still trickling in.

If you're not getting through to the support folks, send a (polite) message to ECR (Executive Customer Relations) by e-mailing Jeff Bezos. I won't post his address here, but it's easy enough to find.

Check the "month-to-date" tab. My missing sales are shown there, just not on the graphs.

For instance, my dashboard shows 11 sales since Nov 29, but my month-to-date report has thirty sales since the 1st of Decemeber.

My royalty reports look accurate for now. Which is to say that they reflect the thirty sales and not eleven. But my book rank does not appear to be reflecting the correct number of sales. A book that sold nine copies yesterday ranked in the mid 200,000's for instance. I would expect that rank to be about 60k.

Amazon has acknowledged that the reports are wrong, but this the time of year when our petty concerns are unlikely to reach the top of their crisis list. It's annoying, but as long as the royalties look right, I won't get too crabby about it.

Thanks for that. I have eBook sales missing from the graphs but they are in the report. However, KDP Print sales are being accurately reported.

The graph doesn't show sales. It never has.

I'll clarify, then.

The orders shown on the dashboard graphs, show many fewer orders than the sales reports generate for sales.

Since it feels implausible that I am selling more books than are being ordered, one could surmise that the orders are not being reported correctly. Since Amazon has already confirmed that there is an issue with reporting, I can then posit that the sales report is likely to be more accurate than the dashboard graphs, as it displays higher numbers that correspond to expected royalties.

I complained about this over a year ago. The only way to fix this is with a class-action lawsuit.

Yes, I would like to join the 'missing sales' issue. I launched towards the end of November with a large advertising campaign.
My sales reports are just not there.

Perhaps Amazon KDP would care to comment on what can be construed to be deception.
IF it is just a reporting issue, then the sales are there, we just cannot see them.
IF the orders are becoming 'lost', i.e. Amazon sees a payment but it doesn't process any further, then this is very serious.

Um, at this point there is a disclaimer about it right at the top of your reports page. If you want more info you will have to email them and ask.
