How to Create an Editable & Interactive Table for My Ebook??

Hi!

I'm writing a book that contains various exercises. In these exercises readers are instructed to write things down and it would be nice if I could create a table where people can fill it in as they read. It seems that the only way to really add a table is to convert it to an image. But I was thinking at least I could provide a link to a page where I had a pdf that they could fill out...that is also a problem because it's hard to make those without adobe acrobat DC which is a $15 a month subscription.

Any ideas on how to do this? If this doesn't work out I'll likely just instruct people to do these exercises on paper but it looks more professional when there is a table provided. Thanks.

You can certainly link to a page on a website you control. I do that when I have an illustration that's too complicated to work on a small screen. I don't know if anyone has actually ever gone with a decent web browser to the detailed jpeg, but at least I know people could if they wanted to.

As for interactive on the ebook, no, not at the present time.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

Good luck! -- NJ

If readers are required to leave your book to fully utilize it, KDP may consider that a poor reading experience. That's why it's so difficult to publish an e-book version of an "adult coloring book" via the KDP platform .

Interesting feedback. I'll definitely include the tables as images then, and probably forget about creating a members area.
