Print cover creator - difference between bleed lines

Hello,

The KDP print cover creator has two sets of bleed lines - a red dotted line on the inside, and a white dotted line on the outside. I can't seem to find any indicator on what the difference is between the two. I'm asking because I am uploading a custom image I made outside of the creator, and I'm trying to make sure it's correctly aligned.

Could anyone shed light on this? Thanks for your help.

My guess would be your image should reach to the outer lines but don't put anything beyond the inner lines, such as text you wouldn't want to lose if it gets chopped off.

Thanks, RJ. That sounds right to me too. If you don't mind, I'd like to keep the question open for a bit just in case anyone has experience with this and can provide a definitive answer. I appreciate your help!

RJ is correct. Anything between the lines can be cut off.

Yes. Don't use KDP Print.
