I'm just starting out and I see that the AK elite software is being revised. I don't wanna wait for it I just want to get started. What other Kindle bookmaking software is out there? I did try doing some research but im stumped
If you know how to use Word and assiduously employ Styles, you can do what thousands of others do -- create a properly formatted Word doc and upload that for conversion. If you're looking for a magic wand, they really only exist in Diagon Alley.
Oh ok thanks lol no wand needed I thought you needed some special software for kindle. It is already written in word its just a 50-page poetry book..
Well, good luck. Poetry is notoriously difficult to format. Many professional formatters won't take poetry. If you've used Styles in creating your Word document, it might convert okay. You might look into Kindle Create. It's in Beta, but a few have had good results. Like everything else, it has its own learning curve.

Kindle Create is a pretty solid piece of software, but it is time-consuming. It is a bit touchy with linebreaks that have been carefully adjusted via font settings or the like (what it calls tables, for some reason). It also has very limited fonts. For a standard fiction book, I think it is great. For poetry? You may have some challenges.
