Hi I am trying to release my ebook (BY HER SIDE) as a paperback. I launch the cover creator then add the image but as soon as I click to edit the text which appears on the back of the book the box goes blank? I’ve trued numerous times and started over again but still get stuck on the same point. Please help

You're supposed to type in your own text. When the place-holder text goes away, start typing. When you're finished, stop typing.

I recommend you use canva. Much better and easier to use.

I’ve tried again today but still come across the same issue, as soon as I click to change the back cover placeholder text it just goes blank, I am unable to type what I want to say on the back. I have tried using createspace to create my cover but I can only find spineless templates?! & after downloading canva it looks to me like it can only create e book covers not paperback? It’s so frustrating, any help gratefully received

Are you using KDP or CreateSpace?

The cover wizard on CreateSpace is excellent.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

Good luck! -- NJ

Or learn a basic graphics program and make it yourself. I also recommend CreateSpace. They have an excellent formatting guide.

I’m using kdp, my ebook is published through them, I just tried to create the paperback cover through createapce as somebody recommended it, I can only find spineless templates though? Can I publish my paperback version through createspace if my ebook is already done through kdp? Sorry for being so useless at this!!! Thank you for your help

All my books are KDP for Kindle and CreateSpace for paperback. Slow down and read through the process. Also, download the CreateSpace PDF Submission Specifications and read it. You will learn a lot about paperback formatting.

Most of us have our ebook in KDP and our paperback in CreateSpace.

There are MANY template options in CreateSpace. They should run at the bottom of the window if I recall.... You should be able to find ones with a spine since your book had enough pages to warrant one. Did you already upload your inside contents? It might need that to flip on the spine options.

This is my experience too. You have to up load the book so the cover creator knows how thick to make it. I found the cover creator in CreateSpace easy to work with. Just follow the directions. Enjoyed playing with the alternatives presented. B

If you type to trim, there's no need to upload it for a total page count.
