This is a forum for publishers to discuss publishing issues. We are not customers and you should not be hawking your book here.

will someone buy my book and give me some feedback on my songs and poetry??

No. This is a forum for general questions to do with publishing, not a place to ask people to part with their money in order to give you reviews. That's a bit cheeky. Poetry doesn't generally sell well anyway. And song lyrics is probably really pushing it without a tune. Even the famous ones can be Googled for free.

Exactly - I was about to post a reply saying the same thing (but with nastier words).

my book is only 5.50

OK, I've had a little bit of wine, but that statement made me laugh. Sorry bud, but now that you've hit publish, you need to figure out how to market your book and that doesn't include jumping on forums with 'buy my book' pleas. That doesn't work well even for reader forums. Usually you need to do a bit of socializing first before you slip in the sell line.

Anyway, search these forums for marketing tips and look on the web for self publishing marketing advice. There are tons of books out there on how to advertise/market your work. You just have to find out what works for you.

Good luck!

Nope.

Based on your other posts, you need to learn the process of writing and formatting and getting feedback BEFORE you publish.

We share how to write, publish, and market the books. We aren't here to buy your books, but we'll look over your blurb, pricing, cover, and Look Inside if you ask for feedback.

Sharing is one thing. But, I don't recall you saying anything about sharing. You said "buy my book." And you never asked about buying any of our books, so that you could "share" your thoughts on them. If you want everyone to buy your book, to give you their opinion, then it is only fair that you buy everyone's books and leave your review.

Okay, so now I've gone and looked up your "book" and the first thing that comes to mind is a $5.50 price for a 40 page pamphlet. Sorry, but I'm thinking that is way overpriced for what the reader is getting. Maybe it's worth it' I don't know. Being only 40 pages, I got to see about one and a half pages of the actual "book" in the Look Inside and it certainly wasn't enough to form much of an opinion. However, I may the wrong person to ask because I just don't get free-form poetry most of the time and I suspect I won't be alone in this.

But, I didn't read anything that would get me to part with $5.50. Maybe it's my loss. Maybe your tome is the one book that could change the world for the better, but at this point I'm never going to know, because I'm not going to buy it.

As almost every author in here is going to tell you, you have chosen the single, hardest genre to try to make a go of it in the self-publishing world. Poetry is never going to be that great a money maker.

Sell one copy a week and you'll achieve 'Best Seller' status - think of all the kudos that comes with that!

And, if you think there are fools out there who'll part with 5.50 for your 40 page masterpiece, why not 9.99, or 19.99?

I'll share a tip. :) Check your prices in other marketplaces. You can set individual prices or let KDP choose based on the price set in the US. By setting the price yourself you can set something which is closer to what readers might expect. For example, your book is for sale in the UK for £4.08 which looks odd. You could try £3.99 or perhaps £4.50. It won't mean you will sell more, but it looks better.
I don't like the cover either but I'm no expert in that field. If the US heart reflects the contents then I guess it is appropriate but it means nothing to me. :)

Look up and to the left. It says kindle direct publishing. This is a forum for independent writers to help each other through the process of publishing on Amazon. It is not a forum to peddle your wares, particularly when your book isn't available in the format being discussed. Your obstinance serves you poorly.

Sharing? You mean, review my book and I'll review yours? What a wonderful idea...if someone wants his account deleted. You did read the TOS, right?

Shame on you. We're writers, we're broke too, and it's not our job to boost your sales.
Good grief, who raises people like this? I'd like a word with your Mother.
