I have a book on KDP that I'm selling for $2.99. I chose the price specifically because it's the lowest I can go while still keeping 70% of the royalties. My book's "delivery fee" is only $.04. I have selected the 70% royalties option. I have made sure that the 70% option is the one that has been clicked. When I go to price my book, Amazon shows both the 35% and 70% profits I would make ($1.05 at 35%, and $2.06 at 70%). Now, when I actually sell my book, I receive 35% royalties for it ($1.05), as opposed to the 70% royalties I have selected. Am I missing something? Thanks for any help!

It depends on the country where it was sold. Not all get the 70%.

This question comes up several times a week. If someone from certain countries outside the US buys a book from the US (dot-com) store, you get only 35% royalty even though your book is normally priced within the 70% royalty range.

It was long assumed that only people without an Amazon store in their local country could or would do this. However, I recently discovered (after asking Customer Support about discrepancies in my reports) that some customers can buy from the US store, even if they're located in a country like India, which has its own IN store. In that situation, you not only get 35% royalty, but the book is price-matched to the local currency.

I use the US store for purchasing. I can use gift vouchers and there bundle deals and no extra tax.
