I gather you already have an Amazon account from CS. Use it to create a KDP account here. Put in your bank info as you did at CS.
Now click Bookshelf, then create-new-title. You're on your way. Fill out the metadata, upload content and cover, preview carefully, and hit Publish. That's it!
Well, not really it, because you have to format your content. But the formatting for most ebooks is far simpler than print. If yours is a kids' picture books, you might want to explore Kid Book Creator (or whatever it's called), where you upload a book whose format is fixed (as the pages are in print), rather than flowing (the way a web page flows). This works for an ebook where the pictures and text have to be arranged just so, but it can't be read on all devices.
If your book is mostly text with a few pictures, "insert" the pictures into your text (I assume in Word) where you want them, then upload the Word file rather than trying fixed-format. Preview. Good luck!
Hi Denise. I don't have an answer to your question but just published a Biblical themed youth fiction book. I thought I would reach out to a few people who have also published these kinds of books to see if we could help each other drum up some enthusiasm for our books. Let me know if this interests you.
