I am confused about pricing my paperback like If I put my paperback price $5 then what will be its price in India on .in?
Will it be same as converting a dollar in rupees?
I have checked many book which are, like $6 on amazon.com and less than 100 Rupees on Amazon.in.
How it works?
Please reply as soon as possible.
Like most things, this is a whole lot easier if you publish through CreateSpace. You can choose to set your own price (which of course has to be higher than the printing cost and Amazon's share) or to let it convert at the current exchange rate.
However, as Dale says, there's no print option for the IN store. Basically it's just the US and the various European stores, though most or all books published through CreateSpace (I don't know about KDP Print Beta) eventually turn up on the CA and CN stores.
Personally, I'd like to see print editions sold in AU. I sell a lot of ebooks there, so I think it would be an other-country print market second only to the UK.
Amazom KDP POD will not make your book available in India but you can go for an Indian POD printer. In principle, they provide a service similar to Amazon KDP POD. The two companies I found doing this business in India are pothi.com and cinnamonteal.
It is close to zero investment on your part (I think pothi charges 1500 setup fee for listing on amazon.in and flipkart). They will list your paperback as being sold by a third party seller on amazon.in. They will accept the order, print the book and ship it. You can continue to publish your ebook on your own while giving a company like pothi the responsibility of managing the paperback.
Printing costs will be higher than normal offset printing but lower than Amazon KDP POD. Shipping costs charged will be around Rs.50 per book. The only drawback is that amazon will not report these sales to you. You will have to get that information from your selected seller.
