Has anyone promoted their novel on Bargain Booksy? If so, was it effective? How does it compare with Ereader News Today (ENT)? Or BookDaily? I'm new at actively marketing my novels and can use all the advice you can provide. Thanks each and everyone of you in advance.

They were my worst promoter ever, in terms of ROI. However, a lot probably depends on genre (mine was literary fiction) and price (my book was 2.99). ENT has been my best by far. Well, technically, the Midlist was my best for ROI, because it was free, but they don't exist anymore.

Joan: June 26, 2016: I have to agree with the other author. I like the people who own Bargain and Free Booksy... They say they have 500,000 subscribers now. I had a promo with Bargain Booksy this week on a unit priced at .99. Amazon tagged it a Hot New Release. Bargain Booksy did NOT move even 100 units. Ten days earlier I sent my newsletter to only half of my subscribers (2800) and within a few hours saw 144 units downloaded. Plus a spike in KENP to above 100,000 pages read and crossover sales. Haven't had a free promo in while, so I can't speak to that. When these things happen, we hear, it's the book, the cover, the book description...NOT. The unit is professionally edited twice over, proofed x3, the cover is nice by a talented artist and it is professionally formatted. Hope this helps. I'm revising my list of promoters. I network with 50 other authors so we all have some input. You might try Books butterfly. Good luck.

Okay, I found a little trick with bargain/freebooksy. Set your book to free on lets say a monday. Then on Tuesday set it back to full price. Pay for the freebook promo for monday. The free book promo will drive people for a few days after the sale has passed. Bargainbooksy promo did not generate even one sale, but the day after the freebooksy promo I had 21 sales.

Bargain Booksy has been one of my top-producing promo sites. The least number of books I've sold from one of their solo promotions is 273. Nowadays I stack promos, so it is more difficult to say who's doing what. Perhaps genre is a deciding factor but they are one of my go-to sites when I need a boost. I debated saying anything at all about this as the better sites are becoming more and more difficult to get on, but I owe them and I always pay what I owe. :^)

My experience is the same as Ron's. Right now Bargain Booksy delivers better results for me than anyone else. Plus they are great to work with. Friendly, helpful, down to earth!

I ran a Bargain Booksy promotion yesterday (Dec. 31, 2017). Usually, relying on an ongoing, targeted Facebook ad, I can count on selling one or two ebooks/day, and occasionally, I sell three. At $2.99, it's a steady, money-losing strategy, but I'm willing lose money to gain readers and (I hope) more word-of-mouth. On the day of my Bargain Booksy promotion, I sold 18 ebooks. I may have sold a couple off Facebook initially, but I paused the ad as soon as the BB email came out. This promotion actually paid, or almost paid for itself. I would definitely do it again.
