I'm trying to access my Author Central account, but after I claim my book for the account I get a message something's gone wrong and to try again later. When I try again I get a message that an e-mail is being sent to my address. I'm not receiving this e-mail, and when I click the link to send it again I get an error message saying to try again later. This has been going on since yesterday.
I tried submitting a help request to the support, but after I've described my issue and click the button to submit the request I get forwarded to a blank page and then nothing happens. I do not get an e-mail confirmation about my help request being submitted or received or anything like that.
This does not seem normal to me, and I assume something's borked.
The question now is if this is a regular occurrence and if it will resolve itself on its own, or if I should try and find another way to get in touch with support to get help? If so, what other contact channel for support would be best to use?
The help request was sent through the Author Central page. I'll wait until the second and see if anything happens then, and if not I'll start looking into other contact options. My book isn't due for release for another month, so it doesn't feel super urgent just yet, but it'd be good to have it sorted.
Once I know what's happened and how it was fixed I'll update this thread.
If you need to do any screen captures (of error messages, etc.), I'd do them now. You won't be able to attach them to a Contact Us message, but you will be able to attach them to the e-mail you get back from the Contact Us.
I have the same problem too. I try to edit/claim the book and it doesnt work. It says they sent my email a confirmation email but I didn't get anything. Then when I try to click the "Click here if you didn't receive an email" it gives me an error.
My issue has now been resolved. Today when submitting a help request through the Need Help link on authorcentral's login page the request was actually sent (previously it just went to a blank page). A few hours later I received a response from a representative who had approved my e-mail manually.
I have been getting this since before Jan 1st. When I click onto author central it tells me it has sent an email, but I never get one. I have no idea what "author central" is because I can't get near it!
Doc, you added a post to a thread that's been marked "answered." You'd be better off to start a new thread and explain in as much detail as possible what you're seeing. Others here will help, if they can.
