Question About Short Story Ebook Publication

I decided that, this year, I would like to give publishing some short stories on Amazon a try. Most of them will be a wide variety of genres, but one of the ones I want to try and dabble in is erotic fiction. My question is, with this erotic content, can we upload different versions of the same story? For example, say I write an erotic story between a woman and a male configured robot. Can I rewrite that story to be between a man and a male configured robot, or a woman and a female configured robot? Thus, three versions of essentially the same story, but with major differences in the characters and, of course, the sex scenes? Even non-erotic content, could I rewrite a story with a female protag to have a male one and still post both versions? These would all be original stories, of course, just me changing my own work to fit different demographics, and I would state that information within the descriptions section, so readers would know what they were getting.

I tried to google an answer, but I couldn't seem to find anything, and reading through Amazon's requirement pages, I couldn't find anything in there. If someone could give me an answer, that would be great!

Thank you!

Sorry I cannot remember the title or author, but I saw an erotica story with a note at the start of the blurb: "This story was previously published as --- but has been rewritten as ----"

Basically they changed the race and ages or something to make it slightly different.

I don't know if this is "right" but there's one example. I guess if you're super up front about it in the blurb, that's okay?

Not sure if sex with a robot is allowed or banable. Either way, if you think swapping genders means only changing pronouns then you’re not doing it right.

Shelby did say "Thus, three versions of essentially the same story, but with major differences in the characters and, of course, the sex scenes?"

If this is like a romance plot where you have fake fiance or brother's best friend or runaway bride or beauty and the beast or any number of frameworks that have vastly different content, then there's no problem. If you are rewriting it from the other person's point of view, where everything is the same except what's in the person's head, that would require a disclaimer in the blurb. When in doubt think about what would tick you off if you spent big money on it.

There's nothing wrong with having a series of human vs robot (assuming that's ok?) stories where you change out the people and change all the sex scenes. As long as it is new material other than the basic framework, then it's a new book. It would be no different from Secret Diary of a Call Girl (tv series) where you had the same person (or robot in your case?) and her interactions with various clients.

Comes across to me as trying to save yourself the effort of writing three original stories. Beware - the reading public will award you one stars if they think they're being short changed. Maybe you couldn't find any answers through Google or Amazon because it's such a uniquely brilliant idea, or to reverse the proposition, rubbish.

If alien tentacle sex is allowed, certainly an inanimate object like a robot must be okay?
Unless the robot is of your own creation, which sort of makes you a parent. haha.

To the OP: what you are describing, which (if I'm getting your it correctly) seems to be using the same basic storyline with interchangeable characters and sex scenes, is what pulp erotica authors thrived upon during the 1960's and 1970's and afterwards.

If you want to do that, I would use more than one basic storyline (i.e., mix it up a bit) and make sure enough things are different in your stories so that any readers who follow you won't feel cheated.
