I'm new here, I just published my book on kindle, also in print(waiting for it to be live), I've already got a couple sales on the kindle edition and was just wondering how often royalties are paid? Does anyone know?
You are paid sixtiy days after the end of any month when you've accrued royalties - if you pass the payment threshold. Depending upon how you choose to get paid and where you are, that threshold is anywhere from $0 to $100.
No, you didn't do anything wrong. You're just confused. There's a lot to figure out when you publish.
The earliest you would be paid for any sales during July would be the end of September. This is if you have direct deposit/EFT. If you're paid by check, you have to wait until you've accumulated at least $100 on the US market, or 100 GBP on the UK market, etc. Sixty days is not a long time to wait. Traditional publishers pay once or twice a year. Most of the other ebook platforms pay quarterly, whereas with KDP if you sell books every month, and are paid by EFT, then you'll get paid every month (for the month two months ago).
Read the thread in the Payments forum, "OK, where are my payments?" It will help you.
Thank you, Andrew, for that information. It explains everything perfectly, I just didn't understand it all before.
To everyone else, mainly you ill-tempered people, whatever, you were all once knew and probably didn't understand something at some point. No need to be rude about things. It was just a simple question.
For the vast majority of self-publishers it doesn't really matter when royalties are paid, because they don't add up to an awfully large amount anyway. If you hit 100 sales it counts as success.
You do have quite a few punctuation typos, eg " parent's " (one parent) when it looks like you mean " parents' " (two parents). Also, while I'm not well-versed in US English, I suspect you mean "The afternoon dragged ..." rather than "The afternoon drug ...". Those sort of things can quickly lead to bad reviews, which makes 100 sales harder to achieve.

I recently added my bank account for electronic deposit. The sales i made royalties on were last year. Will i receive those royalties still?
If these are accumulated royalties that had been awaiting the paper-check threshold, then yes, you should get those. That said, royalties for a given month are never paid any sooner than 60 days from the end of the month in question.
Tip: You added a comment to a years-old thread. You're lucky someone noticed. It's much better to start a new thread, as you'll get better visibility for your question or issue.
If you don't get your accumulated royalties in a reasonable time, do a Contact Us at the bottom right of this screen and politely explain your situation. If the e-mail you get back misses the point or is not helpful, politely respond to the e-mail. DO NOT do another Contact Us, as that sets things back to square one.
