I have published the book and now trying to order for author bulk copies however I don’t see any option for that. Any idea why I may not have the option available?

If you published through CreateSpace, go to your Desktop and click Order Copies. If you published through KDP-Print, it is an option offered only to a few randomly selected publishers. If it does not appear on your (...) menu, then you were not one of the lucky few. No word when this beta aspect of the beta program will be rolled out to all.

Hopefully, it will be soon, but considering that KDP-Print is still beta after nearly two years, I wouldn't put any money on it.

September 2016 to January 2018! That's an eternity in internet time.

I think I understand why Amazon made this move, but I will never understand why they did it so badly.

(Don't trust KDP to publish a print edition. Don't trust CreateSpace to publish an ebook. Each does one thing well and the other thing poorly.)

My 'edit details' tabs for all four volumes of my HF series Peryton now include a choice for "request author copies' and that link appears to be alive and functioning. I went so far as to enter a dummy order for five copies of one of the volumes, selected the market as Amazon.com, and it said it will charge me the cost price ($6.50). Didn't follow the process all the way through since I don't want any now, but it certainly appears to be working.

$6.50? That's about twice what I pay at CreateSpace. Is this a 500-page book, or color interior? Are you paying shipping cost beyond that?

Many thanks for that. :) I've just looked and I have two new options, "Request printed proofs" and "Request author copies". I checked the latter and the cost before shipping was £2.95 which is exactly the printing cost. This is a 225 page book. The option to request a proof copy is also now available at the bottom of the third page, where you set the price before publishing the book. I guess this is where after uploading a new book you would order your proof copy before actually the work for publication.
The shipping charges were initially high, but it defaults to "expedited delivery" and if you select the slower option the charge for shipping 10 copies (total £29.50) dropped from about £9 to just over £4. I had hoped being in Prime it might be free, but sadly not. :(
These options must have been activated in the last week or so. I'm in the UK.
I guess this brings KDP Print into line with CS now, but only in so far as functionality. The process of making a print book is still tripping folk up I fear.
