I installed Kindle Create Add in for Word with no issues and found it fantastic. Then it started crashing Word, I think because an antivirus program marked it. I have now deleted all the components of the Add-in I can find but when I try to download it to add it in fresh, I get the error message that installation has failed because a previous version of the program is already installed. I would love to have this add-in back. Does anyone have any suggestions?
At the moment, because you haven't removed the KC add-in from Word in the correct and proper way, Word still thinks that the KC add-in is still installed(even though you have physically deleted it).
What you should have done was to remove the add-in in Word by doing this(I'm using Word 2007):
In Word, click on File > Word Options(or Options) > Add-Ins and remove the Kindle Create add-in from the list.
Now you should be able to re-add the KC add-in again to Word without any problems.
Just remove the add-in as described above and you should have no problems re-installing it into Word.
Another option for you, if you continue to have problems with the KC add-in is to download and use the actual Kindle Create app from Amazon.com which is a standalone app that can create a kpf file from a loaded Word doc in the same way as the Word add-in version.
