I'm new to all of this, a friend sets it up and I write. I published my first essay yesterday and want to see if anyone has purchased it yet but I don't know how to access the sales report. My friend put it on Amazon Kindle, but not on kdp. It's title is: Fixing America, it is satirical and if you read it you'll get a laugh. Thank you for your help.

Every time you publish, save the contract. Every time your work gets on the Amazon Kindle, save that site on your "Favorites". That way you can go to your "Bookshelf" section to see your reports, any time you want.

Thank you, but I don't know if it was saved or not. So, then what do I do?

Do you mean this?

http://www.amazon.com/Fixing-America-ebook/dp/B007UJ6G3E/ref=sr_1_1?s=digital-text&ie=UTF8&qid=1334634762&sr=1-1

To check your sales, up the top of the page click "reports" then "month to date unit sales". On the left hand side there's a little dropdown menu where you can check the sales for each international Amazon store (they're all reported separately).

I wouldn't expect there to be any sales if you only uploaded it yesterday (especially considering you don't have a ranking on your Amazon page) but if you have any - that's where they'll be!

I apologize for seeming so thick, but the top of the page has these optoins only: king's amazon.com; Today's Deals; Gift Cards and Help.

Then there are a line of other options: Kindle Store; Buy a Kindle; Free Reading apps; Newsstand; Popular Games, Accessories; Discounts and Manage your Kindle.

In other words, I didn't find 'reports' anywhere.

Thank you.

Ah, thought you had to be logged into KDP (kindle direct publishing) to use this forum.

Go here:

http://kdp.amazon.com/

Log in in the top right hand corner. You'll need the username and password that your friend used to publish your books. Then go to "reports" and "month-to-date income", as I said above.

There's a video on how to publish/check sales and stuff here:
