A site called Download Provider http://www.downloadprovider.me/download-k:Touring-1938-Europe-Unawares--Memoir-of-SS-Normandie-Sailing-to-Pre-WWII-Europe-Including-Nazi-Germany.html?aff.id=1299

Is offing my Kindle book for download, to it's members. I wrote to them...but have not heard back. Does anyone know if they are affiliated with Amazon.com or?

Thanks, Kathy

I did not pay so I can not see how it looks from the inside but this seems to be a download site for pirated books, similar to avaxhome. The domain ending .me indicated that the domain is registrated in Montenegro, so catching these guys is almost impossible if you don't get the FBI or Interpol to act. I would bet that the DMCA disclaimer is just laughing in your face ....

They've got mine as well. I tried to sign up to see exactly where the files were coming from but they require a yearly fee. What can we do?

Has anybody been INSIDE for real? I mean, was anybody able to download a book? Sometimes these sites are a pure hoax and you get nothing than a virus or trojan.

I did a quick search - turns out they're a scam. For reference:
http://answers.yahoo.com/question/index?qid=20081112195932AAm2Sup

If you input any gibberish into their search box they'll claim they have it. To get the file, you have to pay (and give them CC info!). Then they let you download "utorrent" (which is free anywhere else) and then send you off to search the net for someone who has the file you're looking for.

Here's another reference: http://www.complaintsboard.com/complaints/download-provider-c581143.html
Apparently they sucker you in for a small amount and later hit you with an automatic bill for about $70.

Scam.

SCAM ALERT.

Just asked for: Momma's Secret Mercenary by Tommi Yang and was assured they had it.

Thanks. That's a relief. Good job when I tried to sign up I used an old e-mail account and a dodgy name.

Yup. They've got everything, including 'Thieving B*****d Pirate Downloads'. Sounds like a good read. Thanks everyone for finding out what was going on.

This morning I Googled information about the site...and it's on the Ripoff Report and others. They say that once they get your money, they abuse your agreement and your credit card, and that you get lots of invites for porn, etc. So there are lots of positive "testimonials" on the site, but tones of negative "testimonials" if you do a search.
