I've done that too, I think the laughing comes when I proof read and find a giant mistake that doesn't make any since then think about ...What if that got published that way. What would the reader think? LOL
I was recently clearing out a closet I hadn't looked into in years (we're moving soon), and came across some old papers and articles I'd written 20 and even 30 years ago. And I had the same feeling - gosh, this is good stuff!
The sad part is that this stuff was so good that I doubt I could even begin to reproduce something like that today, as senility starts to set in. Hope I can get all my books out into the big wide world before my brain goes AWOL altogether.
yeah I've howled laughing at something I wrote...unfortunately it was a typo ("a fish came from nowhere, smacking Danny in the face..." - it was meant to be a [b]fist[/b]). I like trying to write scenes that get people in the gut, although I did get an email a couple of weeks ago from someone who told me he read one of my books in a state of constant, um, [i]excitement[/i]. TMI...apparently I get people slightly lower than intended
