Hey guys, I'm new here and I have no idea what's going on, but my book status says DRAFT when it was Published just a few days ago. What does that mean and why did it change? Any ideas?

I am having the same problem as you; what is going on with this draft business? Did you get a reply from Kindle?

The Thing to do here is to check and see if your book is for sale!

When you Publish, the book will first be listed as "In Review" (For about 1-2 hours) and then "Publishing" And then "LIVE" the whole process takes a bout 12 hours and yu should get a "Congratulations" letter a day or so after that .

If it went to Review and then Back to draft, this is indication of a problem!

#1 cause is a missing Author name and #2 is no catagory listed

This is assuming that the book is not Public domain which has much higher Hurdles for approval.

If you book is for sale there probably is not a problem, but check your "Spam Filter" as amazon will send out an auto generated email that gets traped in the spam filter.

sometimes if you look at a field in the Edit Book page, it will trigger the DRAFT Status and it only means that the Bookshelf THINK you have changed the information on your book and have not yet published the changed Data.

A lot depends on whether your book is for sale or not

If it is for sale, Good! (Probably)

If it is not for sale : BAD (maybe)

Thanks for the replies, guys. I edited my book last night, saved everything like JT recommends and today the status changed to Live. So I guess everything's OK now. Before, when it was Draft, it was still available to buy and lots of copies were downloaded on that day. Maybe it was just a mistake, I don't know.

I really appreciate the advice here. I was waiting on publishing status and had forgot to put myself in as an author. I had the editor in there, but not me. As soon as I fixed it, my book went from draft to review right away. Thanks
