" am officially on VACATION - at the freaking BEACH and man it is HARD to get my mind clear and easy and off business...."
Rob, if you are anywhere near the Hilton Head area, email me and maybe we can catch a cuppa coffee or share a chocolate bar together. (if any of you didn't read his interview which he linked to, he is a chocoholic)
Hello SANDY -- no not near Hilton Head but rather North Myrtle Beach area, Surfside. Some distance, but I certainly hope to catch up with you some day. Maybe I can make Love is Murder this year, hopefully.
by the way....it is so cool to hear from a reader who took one of my FREE ebooks, read it, was so impressed, she decided to BUY it so as she could feel good about the relationship between herself and the author....How cool is that?
It does seem that the best salesmanship is to put the book in the buyer's hand and STEP AWAY....let the reader have time to digest your cover, title, descript and do not over-sell or annoy while arranging this. Arrangements once made, step back and hope for the best.
I set up arrangements via humor and familiar phrases to hook a reader into taking a look at the book page. After this it is entirely up to the reader to decide.
Oddly enough, while on vacation and doing less promotions, I found my book sales surging. So maybe it is true that less is sometime better than more.
THANKS for sharing, Joanna -- very interesting site....a bit hoity-toity in that they believe a book is only as good as a "professional review" but pretty cool concept. Everyone here should give them a look-see. The fact they promote THE BEST is of course ridiculous but otherwise good attempt to separate wheat from chaf, I suppose. I am more democratic in my approach to things Indie.
