Need help in Word Formatting Bullets that align on Kindle

I've tried every way I can think of to get a bullet in MS Word to look good on Kindle, after uploading. Guidance from KDP is that tabs are bad in general, and I've validated that, so all tabs are now out of doc, replaced with Para first-line ident.

But does Word always embed a tab w/ a bullet? Inspecting html, it seems so. Currently published version is missing bullets throughout book, and I used color for now to help (which is ok for K/Fire, smart phones & IPads, but no help for legacy b&w Kindles) ..

Any ideas? THANKS
Pulling hair out, not much left ..

A simple bullet is & bull; in html

A hanging indent is <p width="-20">& bull;

Close up the space. If I include it I get •

I played around with those pesky bullets last week, and I discovered that the unfilled circular one works best.
I'm referring to the first one in the image: http://www.electricteacher.com/images/bullet-style.gif

However, if you'd like to edit the css directly, here's a decent how-to:

Just as it says in the Amazon Publishing Guidelines... bullets don't work well for Kindle... and that is true whether they are entered with MS Word or HTML.

I have spent many an hour... and tried advice from many... including the HTML code offered by notjohn... without solving that particular problem.

I've given in and accepted the fact that the best you can do is make the page as neat as possible.. and that's a long way from as neat as a typeset page.
