My sales aren't showing up. I know I've had a number of sales, but they aren't showing up. This month, I have....wait for it....3 sales on Amazon.com (vs 12 on Amazon.co.uk, vs 63 on B&N). There exists the possibility that the sales will be credited to my account all in a lump in a few days, rather than in real-time, but...why?
I know people can find me by searching on my name. But if you put in my book titles....you get ANY and ALL books with those words in the titles. A friend tried to search using the Internet page, not a mobile app, and she gave up after 50 pages. My books weren't there. Put in the full titles surrounded by " " marks....the books show up. There exists the possibility that, as my sales ranking falls, the likelihood my book will even be shown to searchers is deliberately reduced as a matter of programming. This then would be self-perpetuating. Nobody can find me, so nobody buys. Nobody buys, so nobody can find me. It's not my idea of a great marketing plan. Why would they do this? The 65% cut Amazon takes from my books is just as good money as the 65% they take from anybody else. Don't they want my books to sell, too?
Right now, B&N is outselling Amazon with my titles, 20 to 1 . Something seems really wrong with this picture, and I'm at an utter loss how to help get it turned around.
